Dilys Leung wins ESA-Novartis Junior Scientist Award

Hudson Institute’s Dilys Leung has won the Novartis Junior Scientist Award at the Endocrine Society of Australia’s recent annual scientific meeting in Adelaide.

Dilys is a Masters student in the Steroid Receptor Biology Laboratory in the Centre of Endocrinology and Metabolism. Her presentation topic was “Combined PPARgamma and XIAP treatment sensitises granulosa cell tumours to PPARgamma-mediated apoptosis”.

The award is given for the best presentation at the meeting by an advanced trainee or a person enrolled for a higher degree.

The ESA annual scientific meeting was successful for a number of Hudson Institute researchers.

Professor Evan Simpson addressed the meeting by giving the senior ESA plenary lecture on the topic “Oestrogens – the good, the bad, and the unexpected”.

Professor Simpson, Associate Professor Craig Harrison, Elizabeth K Fletcher, Dr Ann Drummond and Dr Jessie Teng also gave presentations.
