The inflammasome in innate immunity is a Research Project for the Pattern Recognition Receptors and Inflammation Research Group, under the Centre for Innate Immunity and Infectious Diseases.

In response to influenza A virus infections, damage, infectious agents or vaccine platforms, caspase-1 activating complexes termed the inflammasome assemble in the cytoplasm of cells to generate Interleukin (IL)-1b. We are investigating the activation of inflammasomes in innate immunity.
