Hudson Institute’s own RNA technology platform, RNAte, has received international recognition at the IMAPAC Biopharma Awards.

RNAte received the IMAPAC Overall RNA Upstream Development Excellence Award, recognising its contribution to advancing RNA therapeutics in the Asia-Pacific region.

IMAPAC is a global market research and event organizing firm dedicated exclusively to the biopharmaceutical and life sciences industries. Headquartered in Singapore, the company provides industry intelligence, lead generation solutions, and hosts major conferences and awards programs.

RNAte was established three years ago, thanks to seed funding from Invest Victoria and mRNA Victoria, to provide independent testing that supports the development of RNA therapeutics and vaccines.

Since then, the team has achieved Australia’s first NATA accreditation for RNA product testing and expanded its services to include lipid nanoparticles (LNPs), antisense oligonucleotides (ASOs), and small-molecule therapeutics.

RNA biotech award leads to new opportunities

As part of the award, the Platform Principal Manager, Dr Esther Ling, attended the RNA Therapeutics & Manufacturing Asia 2026 and Oligonucleotides & Peptides World Asia Congress 2026 in Singapore.

The award recognises Victoria’s leadership in RNA innovation and helps strengthen Australia’s RNA ecosystem and deliver meaningful outcomes for researchers, industry, and patients.

Dr Ling said she was honoured to receive the IMAPAC Asia-Pacific RNA Excellence Award 2026 on behalf of Hudson Institute.

“This recognition highlights Australia’s growing capability in RNA therapeutics and creates new opportunities to strengthen collaborations, attract global partnerships, and help build a thriving RNA ecosystem across Australia and the Asia-Pacific region,” she said.

“I sincerely thank our Chief Scientific Advisor, Professor Michael Gantier, for his leadership and guidance, and the entire RNAte team for their dedication and commitment to excellence.”

What is RNAte?

  • RNAte is a specialised innate immune testing facility.
  • RNAte plays a valuable role in assessing innate immune activation and cytokine signalling in response to novel RNA products.
  • The RNAte platform is designed to support the emerging RNA industry by providing meticulous analyses and readouts of the immune reactivity of newly developed RNA and mRNA therapeutics.
  • It contributes to the development of safe and more effective RNA-based products for clinical trials.
