Why did you choose Hudson Institute and your research group?

There is a lot of exciting research being done at Hudson Institute. On meeting my research groups, they were all very enthusiastic by the work they do and I was very eager to learn the novel skills and techniques performed by their laboratories.

What is your research about and what do you hope to achieve?

I'm currently working on investigating what bacterial species colonise the respiratory tract and gut of neonates, infants and children in intensive care through the GLAM&I clinical study. We have the ability to sample patients longitudinally to see how their microbial community changes over time, and how these changes interact with their states of health/disease. We are working towards investigating microbiome-based therapies as novel therapeutics for respiratory and gut disease.

What is it like being a student at Hudson Institute?

Hudson Institute is a welcoming, fun and supportive place to work. I have made some of my closest friends among the students at the Institute and am very grateful for the network and support crew around me.
