Funding for childhood cancer research

The Isabella and Marcus Paediatric Brainstem Tumour Fund have provided a grant of $84,000 to Hudson Institute to support the work of Dr Jason Cain.
This funding will support Dr Cain’s research into Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG) DIPG is a highly aggressive cancer that occurs in the brainstem, most frequently in children between the ages of five and nine.
There is no cure and most children die within a year of diagnosis. This funding will help Dr Cain to continue to investigate the molecular mechanisms, genetics and biology of DIPG. This will establish an invaluable resource for the future identification and testing of potential therapeutics.
